PTA (Parent Teacher Association)
About the PTA
Hola y bienvenidos a todos! Hello and welcome to everyone!
Who are ‘we’? We are the PTA! Ignore what you’ve seen on the TV show ‘Motherland’ – we’re friendly, fun and caring. Promise! A group parents and carers who organise brilliant events to raise funds for the school. Not funds for fixing school’s leaky roof (that’s the beauty of having a new building!) it’s all about raising money to enhance the children's experience of school life. Yes, there are cake sales and pre-loved book sales, but there’s also the Summer Fiesta - check out our calendar of events below.
The PTA has an Annual General Meeting every year where we set out the plans for the year. Everyone is invited. The more you’re involved, the more you can do! But that doesn’t mean you have to do everything - it’s about being part of a warm and welcoming community – a bonus of school life at Bilingual Primary School.
Have a look at the slides from the last PTA AGM below. We are still looking to fill some roles within the PTA - see the poster for open positions - please do get in touch if you are interested.
We provide updates throughout the year via our new app Classlist (launching April 2023)*, the PTA Noticeboard, and school website PTA page.
We can’t wait to meet you!

*More information about Classlist
We have an exciting new app called ClassList to help us connect and keep you in the loop with all the messages from the PTA. It’s widely used in schools in the UK, is GDPR compliant and more inclusive than WhatsApp.
Through joining Classlist you can:
- Decide exactly what contact information you wish to share with other families;
- View a list of children in the class and year, and contact their parents via the app; find which families live nearby on a map (if they opt in to share their address);
- Communicate with your class and year in a chat group on the Classlist app; Find, join and create other interest groups amongst parents
- Send invitations to children’s parties and parent social events, request for example dietary info, manage RSVPs;
- Stay in the loop on events and activities run by the PTA and class reps. See how you can help too.
- Place and find items for sale on a private school marketplace;
- Report any content you feel is inappropriate to parent moderators (our Classlist Ambassadors), who can take immediate action to remove messages.
- Decide how many notifications you need: from every comment being notified, to a single weekly digest email from Classlist on Thursdays covering everything relevant to you.
All our messages will be in one place and easy for you to find. You’ll never miss a cake or second hand uniform sale!
Dear BPS Parents & Carers
Can we ask a favour? We’re trying to raise money for our School Playground and we have a target of £40k.
It’s not always easy to ask for donations these days, so we would like to spread the word about using easyfundraising!
It means you can help the PTA & School reach our target really easily – simply shop with any of over 7,000 online brands including Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com, eBay, Boden, and M&S, and when you make a purchase, the brand will send us a free donation at no extra cost to you. It’s as simple as that! So when you go to order Pet food or ink for your printer use this link.
Please visit our new easyfundraising page: https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/bpsptabrighton/ and clicking on ‘support us’ – we really do need your support. Thank you!
Since joining in 2018 – we have 182 Supporters and have raised over £4k. Please share and spread the word…………….
